History Chrysler Cars & Parts
Chrysler is an American automobile manufacturer, owned by London-based Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Named after its founder Walter P. Chrysler, the company has its headquarters at Auburn Hills, Michigan. It was established in 1925, when three former Studebaker engineers banded together with the aim to design a brand new car that would revolutionize the automobile industry. Thus, in 1925, the Chrysler Six, a passenger car equipped with a six-cylinder engine and four-wheel hydraulic brakes, entered the market. The Chrysler Six was truly a groundbreaking car before the Six was produced, there was nothing else like it in the world. Not long after that, the Chrysler part marketplace was born. In the 1930s, Chrysler introduced its first luxury car, the Imperial. The LeBaron, a luxury sedan that borrowed elements from the Imperial, was released in 1931.
Leading up to World War II, Chrysler continued its innovative ways. In 1941, the brand introduced the Town & Country, a "woodie wagon" that featured a steel roof and wooden double doors. In 1955, after Imperial was spun-off as a separate brand, Chrysler released the 300 Series of luxury cars. The series was discontinued in 1971, but was relaunched in 1999 with the release of the 300M. The Cordoba, a luxury coupe, was rolled out in 1975 and was billed as the brand's first small car. Throughout the 70s, as Chrysler's popularity grew, demand for Chrysler parts accelerated. Smaller models like the LeBaron Medallion coupe followed in 1977. In 1995, the Cirrus was introduced as a replacement for the LeBaron. The '90s also saw the company relaunch the Town & Country as a luxury mini-van. Around this time, Chrysler parts were available online for the first time in history. The current Chrysler lineup includes the 300 luxury sedan and Pacifica & Voyager minivans.
